چکیده
ABSTRACT Light is essential for providing energy photosynthetic reactions and has a complex not yet fully understood effect on heliconia growth yield. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate light intensity photosynthesis under semi-arid conditions screen potential genotypes tolerant high solar irradiation levels during vegetative stage. The experiment conducted in Petrolina, PE, Brazil, whose geographic coordinates are 09° 19’ 14” S, 40° 32’ 40” W, with an average altitude 387 m. experimental design used randomized blocks, arranged split-plot scheme, treatments were composed two intensities (full sun 50% shading) five (Heliconia psittacorum x H. spathocircinata cv. Golden Torch; Red Opal; bihai Lobster Claw Two; rauliniana rostrata). Growth gas exchange assessments 100th day after trial initiation. did influence rates (A), stomatal conductance (gs), or transpiration (E) plants. However, isolated genotype revealed that plants Opal, bihai, rauliniana, Torch had higher values A, gs, E. Overall, shading improved plant growth. We conclude exhibited greatest tolerances irradiance conditions.

Effect of Growth Stage on the Macro Mineral Concentrations of Forbs and Grasses in a Semi-arid Region of Sudan
Sudan is a large country with an area of 1.88 million Km2, and has the second largest animal population in Africa consisting of 52.08 million sheep, 43.44 million goats, 41.76 million cattle and 4.62 million camels (MARF, 2013). The majority of animal wealth is concentrated in western Sudan (40%), followed by central Sudan (23%) (MARF, 2011). Minerals are divided into two groups, macro-minerals...

This study compared the use of five different models to describe the growth from birth to 20 weeks of age of kids from both genders of nondescript goats. Fifty nine (59) nondescript kids were weighed weekly at the university of Maiduguri livestock teaching and research farm, Nigeria and the live weights were modeled. Biologically relevant variables were estimated for each kid from the Logistic,...
